Join us on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, for Congressional Cemetery’s Inaugural Day of Giving as we celebrate two major milestones: the 250th anniversary of America and the 50th anniversary of Congressional Cemetery’s modern preservation movement.
Founded in 1976, this year the Association for the Preservation of Historic Congressional Cemetery is celebrating 50 years of preservation, community, and stewardship.

The cemetery has always been built on community contributions; whether of time or private donations. Over the past 50 years, people like you have ensured that this space remains protected, accessible, and vibrant through your support of the APHCC.
On June 23rd, 2026, your gift honors this tradition of community action by directly supporting the work that makes Congressional Cemetery a living landscape of memory, history, and community, including preservation projects, educational programs, public events, and ongoing care for this active burial ground and urban greenspace.
Whether you are a longtime supporter, a neighbor, a K9 Corps member, or a first-time visitor, this is a simple and meaningful way to invest in the future of Congressional Cemetery.
On June 23rd, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, HCC staff and board members will be stationed at the cemetery’s front gate with one goal: to inspire 250 donations of $50 in support of our mission. Stop by for coffee, tea, donuts, and dog treats, and receive a custom Day of Giving sticker as a thank-you for your donation.
