Cinematery returns in 2023 except this time it’s a little…stranger. Director Tim Burton has delighted audiences for decades with his trademark surrealist, bizarre, and dark vision. His films are a natural fit for four evenings amongst the stones of the cemetery grounds. We hope that you will join us for the Summer of Surreal, screenings of four iconic Burton films.
Cinematery is our annual outdoor summer film screenings. Held on the cemetery grounds, this one-of-a-kind event allows you to enjoy the ambiance of the cemetery after dark while taking in a classic film with friends and family. So pack your chairs or picnic blanket and whatever tasty treats you enjoy and plan to join us for an exclusive picnic at a gorgeous Washington landmark. Join us for an evening under the stars!
Feel free to bring your own beverages and food. Alcohol is permitted and will also be for sale. Keep in mind that all guests will be ID checked upon entry. We also recommend bringing your own blankets, low lying lawn chairs, etc. Please do NOT bring chairs that may obstruct the view of those behind you.
Gates open about an hour before sunset (June 7:30pm) and the movie begins at sunset, (June 8:30pm). Times are adjusted for the earlier sundown times in August and September.
Reservations are required. The recommended donation is $10 per person, although you are welcome to give more.
Films will be featured on the first Friday of each month this summer. Join us for the whole series!
June 2: Alice in Wonderland
July 7: The Nightmare Before Christmas

All donations go towards our 501(c)3 nonprofit and the continued preservation of our historic cemetery.
