This Saturday’s topic is “What is Loving End of Life Preparation?”

Our special drop in guests will be Catherine, Death Project Manager; Gabby Jimenez, The Hospice Heart ; and Lisa Pahl of TheDeathDeck. As always when we have special guests for Q&A this is from 10:30am to 11:30am. You are welcome, of course, to arrive or leave any time during Death Doula Day office hours 10am until noon. This week you get to meet three people who have collaborated together in the past, hoping to share their tools, resources, and information with others who want to provide end of life care without fear or uncertainty. They care about this issue because they want to help improve the way human beings are cared for when they die and when they grieve. They also believe that planning is an act of love, and logistics are a form of care work.

Catherine, your Death Project Manager, is the creator of the Mortality Workbook, a toolkit to collect what your loved ones should know before you go, so that you can rest in peace.

Gabby, a hospice nurse and an end-of-life doula, wants people to remember that their experience is not about us, and the most compassionate thing we can do is meet them where they are, not where we want them to be.

Lisa is a hospice social worker and co-creator of The Death Deck and The E•O•L Deck, tools that encourage conversations about what matters most in our lives and our deaths.

They will be joining us remotely, a first-time thing for Death Doula Days!

Meet our special guests on Saturday and ask them your questions. Examples of questions you may have may relate to the planning stages such as, what paperwork to start with now? How to have these conversations with loved ones?

You may also have questions about the dying process like, Can they hear us, and what is important to say at the bedside? Does it hurt them when they stop eating and drinking? Do the medications given at the end of life hasten death?

All are welcome. In fact, bring a family member or friend! Do rsvp by clicking HERE so we can have enough chairs and snacks prepared.

We explore new topics and have drop-in guests every week. Get the upcoming topics and news by signing up for the Death Doula Day mailing list by clicking HERE.
