East City Bookshop proudly partners with the Congressional Cemetery to welcome M.L. Rio to discuss her new novella, Graveyard Shift, about a ragtag group of night shift workers who meet in the local cemetery to unearth the secrets lurking in an open grave. M.L. Rio will be in conversation with NPR’s Tayla Burney.
M.L. Rio is an author of dark academia and gothic novels and novellas, a Shakespeare scholar and actor. With her debut novel, If We Were Villains, published in 2017, Graveyard Shift is her newest work. Currently a D.C. resident, she and her dog Marlowe are welcome with open arms to the Congressional Cemetery!
Tayla Burney is a Journalist, Moderator, Consultant, and the Network Programming and Production Director for NPR. As the Curator and Creator of WAMU’s ‘In Your Bookstore’ series, she is a bibliophile with invaluable insights to provide in conversation with M.L. Rio. We excitedly welcome her and her dog as well!
