An Evening with the Residents: A Comedy Show at the Congressional Cemetery

The Congressional Cemetery is pleased to host an uproariously funny comedy show in our on-site chapel. An Evening with the Residents, so named to recognize the affectionate nickname for the permanent “residents” of the Congressional Cemetery, will feature some of DC’s top comedians bringing their best thematic material to the stage. Get your tickets today—this is a rare opportunity to spend an evening of live entertainment in one of DC’s historic, revered landmarks.

Comic Line Up

Elizabeth Booker Houston: Elizabeth Booker Houston is a comedienne who hails from Memphis, Tennessee and now calls the DC metro area home. She has performed at venues such as the Lincoln Theater in DC and the DC Improv, and headlined at the DC Comedy Loft, Mic Drop, FunnyBone, and West Side Comedy Club. She has worked with comedians such as DL Hughley, Atsuko Okatsuka, and Chaunté Wayans. When Elizabeth is not on stage, you can find her making witty and funny commentary on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Substack where she has amassed millions of views and hundreds of thousands of followers.

Stacey Axler: Stacey Axler has been performing regularly since 2021, at shows and clubs throughout DC and Maryland. Stacey has performed in comedy festivals such as the North Carolina Comedy Festival, Solocom in NYC and the Sixth City Comedy Festival. Stacey also hosts a monthly standup show.

David Balagizi: David Balagizi is a young comic, who lights an audience with his crowd work, African upbringing, and also his weird observations. 
He’s amassed an amazing 1 Million on Social Media with his hilarious videos! David has also had the pleasure of working with headliners like Joe List, Faizon Love and Steve Byrne! And has headlined all across the DMV area and NY.

Joey Friedman: Joey began performing at her parent’s dinner table in Monsey, NY. As a cancer survivor, she has nothing to fear and delivers jokes with an unshakable frankness. She can be found regularly hosting and featuring at the DC Improv for acts such as Louis Katz, Brad Williams, Emily Catalano and Adam Ray. Most recently, she featured in Ari Shaffir’s upcoming special. Every year, she co-produces alongside Improbable Comedy and Cyrus Chansler, a special fundraiser stand up show, Sense of Tumor, featuring all survivors, thrivers and caregivers.

Patty Mata: Patty is a DC based comic, originally from Canada, who has hosted at the Arlington Drafthouse for Adam Conover, Dulce Sloan and Matt Friendly. When Patty isn’t doing comedy, she is a local social worker who is desperately trying not to get deported. She enjoys poking fun at the state of the country’s affairs and will accept maple syrup as a tradable good.
