This Saturday’s topic is: September 30, 2023 Corpse Pose (special guest, Laura Gabisch)

Our special drop in guest will be Laura Gabisch, who teaches yoga classes at Congressional Cemetery. As always when we have a special guest for Q&A this is from 10:30am to 11:30am. You are welcome, of course, to arrive or leave any time during Death Doula Day office hours 10am until noon.

Gabisch, who has been a frequent visitor to the Death Doula Days hours on Saturdays this year, intrigued us all with a mention of Shavasana, or Corpse Pose, as she was heading over to lead a yoga class.

We have to know more! So we’ve asked Laura G. to join us to talk about yoga and breathing and the role and meaning of the corpse pose. Laura will lead us in a bit of “chair yoga” as well.

Laura “Narayani” Gubisch is a long time hatha yoga teacher focused on the practice of relaxation, or corpse pose, and absolutely loves teaching this pose (and many others) under the beautiful trees at the cemetery!

And to think that Laura the Death Doula just thought of that part of yoga class as “the nap.”

All are welcome. In fact, bring a family member or friend! Do rsvp so we can have enough chairs and snacks prepared.

The conference room is, cosy, so please do rsvp by clicking HERE.
