Prior to the creation of Arlington National Cemetery, Congressional Cemetery was the preeminent cemetery of national memory. And many veterans of America’s earliest wars chose Congressional Cemetery as their final resting place. This tradition continued throughout United States history and now thousands of veteran graves dot the landscape of our historic grounds. Join one of our expert docents for a military history focused tour of the cemetery in honor of the upcoming Veteran’s Day holiday.
Please come prepared with comfortable clothing and shoes, as the tours often stray from the main paths.
The tour is rain or shine. The Cemetery is closed to dogs on Saturdays from 11am – 3pm.
Reservations are required. $5 donation per person.
