SUMMARY:Death Doula Days
DESCRIPTION:This Saturday’s topic is: Companion animal doulas \nOur special drop in guest will be Alexis Mitchell\, a student getting her training as a companion animal end of life doula. As always when we have a special guest for Q&A this is from 10:30am to 11:30am. You are welcome\, of course\, to arrive or leave any time during Death Doula Day office hours 10am until noon. \nMost people have never heard of a “death doula” or an “end-of-life doula” so even fewer have heard of a companion animal eol-death doula\, so I was fascinated to hear from Alexis about her studies at the The University of Vermont. I have questions! And\, I’m sure\, so do you. What drew her to this? How might it differ from supporting dying humans and their families? What are her hopes for this work? \nThis is a topic of special interest for us here. This is Congressional Cemetery\, where dogs in particular are such an important part of the community and we have a special space for memorializing companion animals. \nAll are welcome. In fact\, bring a family member or friend! Do rsvp so we can have enough chairs and snacks prepared. \nThe conference room is\, cosy\, so please do rsvp by clicking HERE. \nWHAT ARE DEATH DOULA DAYS? \nDeath Doula Days on Saturdays 10am-noon at Congressional Cemetery. Free event\, no experience necessary\, donations to support Congressional Cemetery’s work warmly welcome. \nStay up to date on the project and get notice of upcoming topics by joining our Death Doula Day mailing list HERE. \n
