SUMMARY:Introductory Tour
DESCRIPTION:Purchase Tickets Here!\nJoin us for a guided introductory tour of Congressional Cemetery! Over 67\,000 people are interred at Congressional Cemetery\, ranging from 1807 all the way until the present day. Their stories are American history in microcosm\, all in 35 acres of the nation’s capital. Come and experience their extraordinary lives in a one of kind portal into the past. On this tour of approximately 90 minutes\, one of our trained docents will share with you the stories of some of Congressional’s interred residents while walking the beautiful and scenic cemetery grounds. \n \n\nTickets are only $5 and all proceeds go to benefitting our non-profit mission of historical preservation and education. This is a non-refundable donation.\n\n\n\nPlease come prepared with comfortable and weather-appropriate clothing and shoes\, as the tours often stray from the main paths. Tours are rain or shine. Visitors may meet docents at the front gate of the cemetery located at the corner of E St. and Potomac Ave.\n\n\nThe cemetery is closed to dogs on Saturdays from 11am – 3pm.\nPurchase Tickets Here!

The cemetery is the final resting place of many notable Americans\, including members of Congress\, public servants\, veterans\, artists\, activists\, and Washingtonians from all walks of life. Today\, Congressional Cemetery remains both a sacred historic landscape and a vibrant community space\, sustained through public programs\, preservation efforts\, and the support of those who visit\, run\, walk\, and gather here. \nStart Time: The 5K begins at 5:00 pm. \nCost (Includes T-shirt if ordered before September 20th): \nEarly Bird [BEFORE August 2nd]: $30 \nStandard: $40 \nNot only is this a fun race\, but it comes with the good feeling you get when supporting a non-profit! \nWe are unable to offer refunds or race transfers. Our races are rain or shine\, and there is no rain date for the race. \nThe Course:\nOur 5K course is flat\, fast\, and USATF certified.
