SUMMARY:Founding the Federal City: Capital Connections Tour
DESCRIPTION:Purchase Tickets Here!\nEstablished in 1800\, Washington\, DC was the fledgling capital of a fledgling nation. Built to house the seats of federal government\, the nation’s capital soon became a city in its own right\, a place where people lived\, worked\, and\, of course\, died. A mix of congressmen\, merchants\, military officers\, diplomats\, architects\, and enslaved individuals comprised the fabric of the new capital\, an experimental mix of people in an experimental new nation. \nWe invite you to experience the lives of the people in the early days of the Federal City in a special tour of the cemetery grounds. \n\nTickets are only $10 and all proceeds go to benefitting our non-profit mission of historical preservation and education. This is a non-refundable donation.\n\n\n\nPlease come prepared with comfortable and weather-appropriate clothing and shoes\, as the tours often stray from the main paths. Tours are rain or shine. Visitors may meet docents at the front gate of the cemetery located at the corner of E St. and Potomac Ave.\n\n\nThe cemetery is closed to dogs on Saturdays from 11am – 3pm.\nPurchase Tickets Here!

SUMMARY:National Treasure Hunt’s HEIST NIGHT Rain date
DESCRIPTION:At Congressional\, we are always looking for opportunities to partner with other organizations in our community that are committed to creatively engaging individuals with unique ways to gather and have fun. That’s why we are proud to host National Treasure Hunt’s HEIST NIGHT.  \nTeam up with friends to crack clues\, solve ciphers\, and hack history as you race against foes to find the missing piece in a nearly 20-year-old treasure hunt! You’ll test your skills in history\, science\, logic\, trivia\, and more as you work together to solve escape room-style puzzles in a character-driven quest. \nDue to inclement weather\, Heist Night is postponed to May 30th. Ticket purchasers should look out for an email from Congressional Cemetery containing more information.\nLearn surprising new skills in an exciting night out with your Heist Masters\, Aubrey Paris and Emily Black\, creators of the National Treasure Hunt podcast\, book\, and tour. Secrets will be revealed during this one-of-a-kind adventure. Will you join the hunt? \nAbout Your Hosts: National Treasure Hunt provides an interdisciplinary investigation of the National Treasure films from the analytical perspective of Aubrey Paris and Emily Black\, nationally recognized franchise experts. Their educational yet entertaining events and activities are inspired by their podcast content and are powered by a belief that pop culture can facilitate meaningful conversations while building community. \nTarget Audience: Recommended for ages 18+\, but younger participants (especially the history-savvy) are also welcome. Any rain postponement will be announced via our social media pages and sent directly to the ticket purchaser.\nThe Cemetery grounds are jagged or rough in some areas\, and historic monuments are fragile and can be easily toppled. Please stick to the paths and lit areas of the cemetery.\nThere no refunds or exchanges.\nIf you would like to compete with a team (5 to 6 people per team)\, we suggest purchasing your tickets together. If you are purchasing your tickets separately but want to group up with others attending\, please indicate their name on the ticketing page when prompted.\n\n
