Discover where the bones are buried in a Fido-friendly* tour of Congressional Cemetery.  This variation of our introductory tour highlights a selection of our most famous residents, many of whom were devoted to dogs.  You’ll learn about the origin of our celebrated K9 Corps and its vital role in HCC’s transformation from endangered historic site to national historic landmark.  True to its name, the “Unleashed” tour goes for its walk when the grounds are open to members of our off-leash dog walking program.   Note that our spirited cemetery dogs may enthusiastically approach visitors.  If this doesn’t wag your tail,  join us for a Saturday introductory tour when dogs are not on the grounds. This tour will be conducted in honor of:

4/25: — National Pet Parents Day
5/22: — National Rescue Dog Day (May 20)
6/6: — Pet Appreciation Week

*Your pup is welcome on this tour if you treat him to a K9 day pass.  These can be obtained at the gate for $10/day if you are not a K9 Corps member.

For years, Congressional Cemetery’s docents have consistently offered Saturday tours of Congressional Cemetery. Now, due to the breadth of expertise and knowledge of our volunteer docents, we’re happy to add a focused tour on the our connections with dogs.

Tours are limited to 9 people. No walk-ups allowed. Face coverings are required to be worn by all attendees over the age of two for the entire tour. If you do not have a face covering, one will be provided to you. If you refuse to wear a face covering, you will not be permitted to join the tour. Comfortable attire is strongly encouraged. Visitors may meet docents at the front gate.
