Soul Strolls

Buy Tickets HERE

Trespass into the past and discover the secrets of some of Congressional Cemetery’s “residents.” Soul Strolls, the Cemetery’s annual twilight tours, explore the stories of individuals buried here through guided tours and costumed interpreters. Experience the history of this hallowed ground exactly the way it should be experienced in October – in twilight and darkness, happening upon vignettes and individuals under the guidance of one of our “Dozen Decent Docents.”

Soul Strolls take place over four nights, October 20th and 21st and October 27th and 28th. Hour-long tours depart every 15 minutes between 7 and 10 pm for our Friday tours, and 6 and 10 pm on our Saturday tours. Beer, wine, and cider will be for sale at our cash bar in the Chapel. Adult tickets are $22; children 12 and under are $12. Attendees can arrive early to grab a glass of wine, browse our HCC gift shop, and listen to music while waiting for tours to depart.

This year, we are excited to offer a VIP option to a select group of visitors. Our Public Vault will be transformed into a Prohibition-era speakeasy. At the conclusion of the public tour, your docent will lead you to the Public Vault, where VIPs will be admitted - provided they know the password, of course! You’ll have the opportunity to interact with a few of the lawmakers and lawbreakers of the 1920s while sipping craft cocktails in and around the vault itself. Each VIP ticket includes: three drink tickets (can be used in the pre-tour bar in Chapel or the speakeasy), the public guided Soul Strolls tour, as well as admission into the post-tour speakeasy. Prove that you know your onions: the Public Vault speakeasy will be the bee’s knees.

Please Note: The Cemetery is unable to offer refunds or tour time changes, so please keep this in mind when purchasing tickets.

Comfortable shoes are encouraged, as are flashlights. Tours will not stay on the paths, so please be ready for uneven terrain.

This event is rain or shine.
