Lecture: A Century of Graverobbing: Dastardly Deeds at Historic Congressional Cemetery

Due to overwhelming response to this event, we are no longer accepting RSVPs. However, we will be streaming the entire lecture on Facebook Live. Tune in on Tuesday, June 20th at 7 pm to listen to Rebecca Roberts presentation.

Rebecca Roberts (Smithsonian Associates)

A former staffer and current Board Member of Historic Congressional Cemetery, Roberts has conducted extensive research on graverobbing in Washington DC, with particular attention to resurrectionists who sold stolen cadavers to local medical schools. In Roberts' surprisingly lively presentation, you'll learn about skull collectors, black magic enthusiasts, and why you should always write your name in your underwear.

Lecture is held in the Congressional Cemetery Chapel. An informal wine and cheese reception will be held beginning at 6:30 pm, and the lecture begins at 7 pm. $5 donation requested to help cover costs. Please RSVP so we can keep track of numbers and provide updates about the lecture.
